How to set up a Wi-Fi Network

We know that Internet is really a power tool. Internet gives us to access to all kind of information in a moment. Like e-mail,Google search,Wikipedia,Facebook and many more. So there is some difficulty using internet only on desktop. What if you could use the internet from anywhere in your home or office.

If you already have a high speed internet connection (that is broadband) at your home or office, you can easily set up your home wireless network. You know we commonly call wireless network as
Wi-Fi. This Wi-Fi can allows you to connect your Smart Phones,Laptops,PDAs,and other net usable devices to your home internet without an Ethernet cable.

For this you need to purchase a wireless router.

To create a Wi-Fi network you will need a Wireless Router. This is a device that will broadcast the Wi-Fi signal from your internet modem to throughout your home. Sometimes your ISP( Internet Service Provider) may offer you a wireless router for a small monthly or quarterly fee. If you have never set up a wireless network before,This may be a easiest method.

If you want to buy your own wireless router, then you need to do some research on router specifications. So Google it with “How to buy a wireless router”.

Connect the Cables to Your Wireless router

  • Once you have bought a wireless router, You will need to connect your Ethernet cable to it.
  • Plug in the router adaptor in the socket and connect it to router.
  • You should wait for 30 seconds to turn on the router.

Steps to configure router

Here you will need to use your computer to configure router default settings. This also includes your Wi-Fi Network name  and Password.
  • Using your browser you can set it up. Open your browser, and enter the router’s default IP address in the address bar, then press enter. Your router instructions should contain this information. But many of the routers have a 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
  • Router admin page will be appeared. You need to enter User Name and Password. But many of the cases we have a default User Name as “admin” and Password will be “password” or “admin”.
  • And then follows the steps, and give a name to your network and set your own password.
Congratulation!

You have created a wireless network.
Turn on your device’s Wi-Fi,then search for your wireless network and select it enter the password.
